Italian Notarial Records (Notary Acts — Atti Notarili) are the various legal records that cover activities such as, sales, disputes, wills, or other business transactions. They can provide unique information to genealogists, particularly when they cover periods for which other records are not readily available.
Born and raised in Italy, Joel Cole has over twenty years of experience as a genealogist and researcher, and has been to nearly every state archive in Italy and nearly 1,000 parish archives. He also specializes in paleography and various Italian scripts, and reads Latin as well. Joel has presented at many international genealogical conferences about Italian Family History and has worked for years for private genealogy companies.
